The inspection was conducted to evaluate compliance with regulatory standards related to care planning, food safety, dietary staff hygiene, and infection prevention and control practices at Arabella Health & Wellness of Phenix City.
Findings
The facility was found deficient in developing a comprehensive care plan for a hospice resident, maintaining proper food storage and handling practices including expired food and improper ice scoop storage, ensuring dietary staff hair was properly restrained, and preventing cross-contamination during ice distribution to residents.
