This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through assistedlivingmagazine.com and assists.com (the “Sites”), how we use and share it, and the choices you have.

Our service is free for families. We help people find senior living communities, and we may receive a referral fee from a community if you move in after we connect you. You can read exactly how that works on our How We Make Money page.

Information We Collect

Information you provide to us

When you fill out a form, call us, email us, or text us, you may provide your name, email address, phone number, and details about the care you’re looking for — such as location, budget, timeline, care type, and information about the person who needs care. Providing this information is always your choice, and you can browse the Sites without providing any of it.

We never ask for and do not collect payment card numbers, bank account information, Social Security numbers, or government ID numbers. You do not need to create an account or password to use the Sites.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, we automatically collect certain technical information when you visit, including your IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, and how you arrived at the Sites. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies, described in the “Cookies and Tracking Technologies” section below.

How We Use Your Information

How We Share Information

When you submit a form on the Sites, it goes to our own care advisors — not directly to communities, advertisers, or lead-buying networks.

Senior living communities

If you ask us to arrange a tour, pricing details, or an introduction, we share your contact information and relevant care details with the specific communities involved. We may receive a referral fee from a community if you ultimately move in. We do not broadcast your information to communities you haven’t expressed interest in.

Service providers

We use third-party vendors to operate the Sites and communicate with you — for example, website hosting, analytics, and email, telephone, and text-messaging platforms. These providers may process your information only to provide services to us and are required to protect it.

Legal requirements and protection

We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others, or to investigate fraud or misuse of the Sites.

Business transfers

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will continue to protect it under the commitments in this policy.

We do not sell your personal information to data brokers, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Calls, Texts, and Emails

When you submit your contact information through the Sites, you are asking our care advisors to contact you by phone and email about your senior living search. We only send text messages to people who have specifically requested texts after making initial contact with us. Agreeing to be contacted is never a condition of receiving help from us or of any purchase.

We do not record phone calls.

You can stop communications at any time: reply STOP to any text, use the unsubscribe link in any email, tell your advisor directly, or email us at privacy@assistedlivingmagazine.com.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

The Sites use cookies and similar technologies (such as pixels and local storage) to keep the Sites working properly, remember your preferences, and understand how visitors use the Sites through analytics tools. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect how parts of the Sites function.

Children’s Privacy

The Sites are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and no part of the Sites is directed to children under 13 as defined by COPPA. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us at privacy@assistedlivingmagazine.com and we will delete it.

Third-Party Links

The Sites link to third-party websites, including senior living communities’ own sites. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices.
