The inspection was conducted in response to a complaint alleging that Resident A sustained burns and bruises after her foot was found between the mattress and an electric radiator.

The investigation confirmed that Resident A suffered severe burns on her feet caused by contact with an electric radiator while her legs were stuck between the mattress and the wall. The facility has since disconnected all radiant supplemental heat units and moved beds away from radiators to prevent future incidents.
