| The hospice must follow accepted standards of practice to prevent the transmission of infections and communicable diseases, including the use of standard precautions. Based on observations, interviews, and review of the agency’s policy, the agency failed to implement accepted standards of practice to prevent the potential of transmission of infections and communicable diseases in one of four home visits with one patient (Patients (P) 3) with Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) 1. This deficient practice had the potential to affect all 55 patients who were currently receiving hospice services. |
