The purpose of this visit was to investigate intake #GA50001568, involving a complaint about the facility's response to a resident's sudden change in condition.

Complaint Details
The complaint investigation was triggered by intake #GA50001568. The resident was found unresponsive on 2/9/25, and staff failed to initiate CPR despite the resident not being on hospice and having a POLST form indicating to attempt resuscitation. Staff reported panic and uncertainty about performing CPR.
Findings
The investigation found that the facility failed to initiate cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for Resident #1 who became unresponsive and was not enrolled in hospice nor had a DNR or advance directive. Staff did not perform CPR despite the resident not showing obvious signs that resuscitation would be futile.
