Overview of Meadow Care

Meadow Care is a residential care home that recognizes the importance of providing more than just basic care to its residents. The home offers a range of additional services to enhance the well-being and comfort of its residents, including hairdressing, chiropody, visitors’ meals, visiting opticians, dentistry, physiotherapy, and newspapers and magazines. If a resident needs to attend a hospital or outpatient appointment, Meadow Care arranges transport to and from the appointment and provides a member of staff as an escort if required.

Meadow Care employs two activities co-ordinators who provide both group and one-to-one activities sessions for the benefit of residents. These activities are conducted daily and include music sessions, art and crafts, gardening using raised flowerbeds, hand massage, armchair exercise classes, accompanied local walks, social events throughout the year, discussion groups, and personal grooming sessions. The home also offers nursing care and assessment, with a free pre-admission assessment for all prospective residents prior to admission. Individual care plans are tailored to the needs of each resident, along with a risk assessment report and life history. Each resident or family member is asked to participate in the compilation and review of their care plan, risk assessment, and life history, and each resident has a dedicated nurse and key worker assigned to them, providing a single point of contact to a GP surgery with weekly planned clinics held in-house with a GP and trained staff.

Quality ratings

Measured by Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)

Overall rating Info The Overall CMS Rating combines results from health inspections, staffing levels and quality measures. Health inspections carry the most weight. Staffing and quality scores can increase or decrease the final rating based on performance compared to state and national standards.
2/5
Health Inspection Info Based on the results of the facility's three most recent standard inspections and any complaint investigations. CMS reviews the number, scope, and severity of deficiencies, with more recent findings weighted more heavily.
1/5
Staffing Info Measures average nursing staff hours per resident per day, including Registered Nurses (RNs) and total nursing staff. Ratings are adjusted based on the level of care residents require and are compared to state and national benchmarks.
