Visit Reason
A biennial survey was conducted to ensure compliance with the 2005 Rules 10A NCAC 13G for Family Care Homes and applicable portions of the 2018 North Carolina Building Code for a Family Care Home licensed for five ambulatory residents.
Findings
Multiple deficiencies were cited including non-compliant exit door locks requiring more than a single hand motion to open, improper smoke and heat detector installations, incorrectly oriented emergency egress maps, fire drill rehearsals without smoke alarm activation, electrical hazards such as exposed wiring and unprotected water heater wiring, malfunctioning GFCI receptacles, maintenance issues with doors and towel bars, potential hazards from unsecured mirrors, missing downspout components, and combustible storage in the attic.
