Inspection Reports for ShadowTree Lodge

The inspection was conducted as a renewal inspection for the adult foster care license of Shadowtree Lodge.

The facility was determined to be in substantial compliance with applicable licensing statutes and rules, with no deficiencies noted.

The purpose of this addendum is to inspect the two new half bathrooms added to the facility and approve them for resident use, and to remeasure Bedroom #1 to ensure it meets the square footage criteria for resident use.

On 01/11/2024, the two new half bathrooms attached to Bedroom #1 and Bedroom #2 were inspected and found suitable for resident use. Bedroom #1 was remeasured and found to be 138 square feet, meeting the required criteria, and Bedroom #2 did not lose any usable floor space.

The inspection was conducted as a renewal inspection to determine compliance with applicable licensing statutes and rules for license renewal.

The facility was determined to be in substantial compliance with rules and requirements. The license renewal is recommended upon receipt of an acceptable environmental health rating from the Lapeer County Health Department.

The purpose of the inspection was to determine if a newly equipped kitchen located in the resident’s quarters is approved for the facility’s use.

The inspection found that the facility's kitchen now has a fully functional stove, microwave oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, and sink. The addition of the kitchen area is approved for the facility and resident use based on prior township inspection approval and current inspection.

The visit was conducted as an original licensing study to determine compliance with applicable licensing statutes and administrative rules for Shadowtree Lodge, a new adult foster care family home.

The facility was found to be in substantial compliance with licensing requirements, including physical environment, safety features, and program descriptions. The applicant demonstrated understanding of administrative rules and responsibilities. No rule or statutory violations were found at the time of licensure.
