Inspection Reports for Winterberry Heights Senior Living

The inspection was conducted to assess compliance with licensing requirements for Winterberry Heights, a Level IV Residential Care Facility, including verification of background checks for staff as part of relicensure.

The facility was found not in substantial compliance due to failure to utilize the Maine Background Check Center to obtain comprehensive background checks for staff with direct resident access. This was a repeat deficiency from a prior inspection and the facility failed to follow its previously submitted Plan of Correction.

The inspection was conducted as a biennial survey to assess compliance with the Regulations Governing the Licensing and Functioning of Assisted Housing Programs for a Level IV Residential Care Facility.

The facility was found not in substantial compliance due to failure to utilize the Maine Background Check Center (MBCC) to obtain comprehensive background check reports for two staff members with direct resident access, including one staff without any MBCC record and another with a background check completed after hiring.
