Inspection Report Summary for The Oaks at Inglewood
Oaks at Inglewood Assisted Living (Facility #392700475) continued to operate with a consistently low census relative to its 86‑resident capacity, ranging from 66 residents in August 2021 to 77 in January 2023. Over the two‑year period the California Department of Social Services’ Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD) conducted several unannounced inspections and case‑management visits that consistently found no regulatory deficiencies. Each report highlighted the facility’s compliance with health, safety, and administrative requirements, noting that all fire safety equipment, medication storage, emergency plans, and environmental conditions met state standards. The site’s temperature control, first‑aid supplies, and food storage protocols were regularly verified as adequate during every visit.
The most significant concerns documented were two separate resident‑to‑resident incidents. On August 16, 2021, a verbal altercation between Resident One (R1) and Resident Two (R2) escalated to a physical injury, with R2 sustaining bruising on the wrist. The facility promptly notified law enforcement, medical personnel, and the families, and scheduled a family care conference to address R1’s aggression. A similar incident involving R1 was reported on October 21, 2021, when R1’s health status changed and a higher level of care was recommended; the family chose to transfer the resident that day. Both cases were addressed with documented follow‑up, and no corrective actions were cited by the CCLD.
Across the remaining inspections—November 9, 2021; March 29, 2022; and January 31, 2023—the agency observed routine compliance in areas such as staff licensing, emergency preparedness, and environmental safety. The facility’s administrators, from Diane Wright to Brittany Andrews, consistently maintained valid credentials and facilitated the inspections. Despite the incidents involving resident conflicts, the pattern of inspections shows a stable, well‑managed environment that adheres to state regulations and demonstrates effective responsiveness to resident safety concerns.
