Visit Reason
The Office of the State Fire Marshal conducted an inspection at the Hillcrest at Summitview residential care facility to evaluate compliance with fire protection and safety codes.
Findings
All fire safety code violations identified during the inspection were corrected, including issues with relocatable power taps, hold-open devices, duct and air transfer openings, and sprinkler system testing and maintenance. Documentation of forward flow testing and FDC hydro testing is required for review.
Deficiencies (8)
Description
Relocatable power taps and current taps shall be in accordance with NFPA 70 and this code.
Relocatable power taps and current taps shall be directly connected to a permanently installed receptacle.
Owner shall maintain an inventory of all required fire-resistance-rated construction and ensure proper inspection and repair.
Hold-open devices and automatic door closers shall be maintained and doors shall remain closed when device is out of service.
Dampers protecting ducts and air transfer openings shall be inspected, maintained, and repaired or replaced as necessary.
Sprinkler systems shall be tested and maintained in accordance with Section 901; documentation of forward flow testing and FDC hydro testing required.
Inspection, testing, and maintenance schedules and procedures for fire alarm and detection systems shall be maintained.
Visible hazard identification signs shall be placed on stationary containers and entrances where hazardous materials are stored or handled.
