My mother-in-law lived at Vincentian Schenley Gardens in the memory care unit. The facility has consistently been short-staffed in the memory care unit, often with only one aide responsible for 14 residents. This level of staffing leads to delayed care, long response times, and visible strain on the staff who are present. These issues have been ongoing, not temporary lapses.Despite repeatedly raising concerns with management, we found them uncooperative and unwilling to take meaningful action. Instead of solutions, we received dismissive responses and little follow-through. Had it not been for a private duty aide we arranged for my mother-in-law, her comfort and well-being would have been severely compromised.Families entrust loved ones to facilities like this with the expectation of safe, attentive care—an expectation that Vincentian Schenley Gardens has not met. While some staff members are hardworking and caring, the chronic understaffing and lack of accountability from management make this an unsafe and unreliable choice. We have since moved my mother-in-law to another facility where the staff-to-resident ratio is appropriate and residents’ needs are met with care and attentiveness. What do you like most about living here? Answer: My mother-in-law was there. We moved her due to concerns for her well being Are there enough caregivers to handle the residents' needs, especially during emergencies? Answer: No Are the common areas pleasant and comfortable for socializing or relaxing? Answer: No How would you rate the quality and variety of the meals?
