Irene Wachsler
The facility is very short-staffed. My Mom had hip surgery. The next day, she was sent to Newbridge for Rehab (Wednesday, early afternoon). Intake was done on Friday morning. Also, my Mom needed two people to help her get out of bed to use the commode. The staff (PCAs & nurse) refused to help my Mom get out of bed. The staff put an adult diaper on my Mom and placed a towel between her legs. They didn't even bother to use a commercially available catheter like PureWick. On Wednesday night, after my Mom had peed in the bed, a PCA told me I had to leave the room; otherwise, she would not change my Mom / clean her up. She also yelled at my Mom to get up. (Mom couldn't get up on her own...) While I was standing outside of her room, I heard my Mom screaming in pain. I can't assess the physical/occupational therapy, as my Mom is no longer (and won't be returning) to Newbridge. What do you like most about living here? Answer: My Mom is no longer at the rehab facility. For the two days that she spent there, she thought she was going to die Are there enough caregivers to handle the residents' needs, especially during emergencies?
