How We Use AI at Assisted Living Magazine

Effective date: 10/14/2026

Researching senior living involves comparing information from many sources, including community websites, inspection reports, pricing, and care options. At Assisted Living Magazine, we use artificial intelligence to help our team organize this information and support families in their search.

People remain responsible for our published content. Our editorial and content team checks every community profile and article before publication. This policy explains how AI contributes to our work, the role of human review, and the limitations to keep in mind when using our website and services.

How We Use AI in Our Content

Community Profiles and Data

We use AI to prepare initial summaries of community information. A member of our team then writes the overview that appears on the community’s profile, and our editorial and content team checks the profile before publication.

Our data team uses AI to assist with extracting and organizing information from source materials. This work is carried out by people using AI tools. An extracted detail or summary can contain errors or omit context, so it should be considered alongside the original source where available.

Our review summaries are written by people.

Articles and Educational Resources

Jeremy Clerc and Jordan Weiss, PhD write our articles. They use AI to assist with research, article structure, and grammar. Our editorial and content team checks each article before publication.

An author or reviewer credit identifies that person’s involvement in the material shown on the page. It should not be interpreted as a claim that they have reviewed every community, source record, or piece of information on our website.

Images and Illustrations

We use AI to help screen images, followed by human approval. We do not generate or alter community photographs with AI.

Some blog posts include AI-generated illustrations. These are visual illustrations of a topic and should not be treated as photographs of an actual community, resident, or event.

Human Review and Information Quality

Every community profile and article is checked by our editorial and content team before publication. Human review helps identify problems, but errors can still occur. Reviewing a profile is also different from inspecting a community in person or assessing someone’s medical needs.

Our sources may cover different reporting periods and update on different schedules. A recently updated webpage can contain government records or other information from an earlier period. Where source references and reporting dates are available, they provide important context for interpreting the information.

Before making a decision, confirm current pricing, availability, licensing, and care capabilities directly with the community and, where appropriate, the relevant regulator. Missing information should not be interpreted as confirmation that a community has no problems.

AI, Grades, and Rankings

The tools we use to organize and evaluate community information are built by members of our team. AI helps us operate these tools and keep information updated.

Inspection grades, individual comparison metrics, and broader community rankings serve different purposes. Our Ranking Methodology explains how our comparisons work. Our How We Make Money page explains our funding and editorial-independence commitments.

An Assisted Living Magazine grade or ranking is not a government endorsement or a guarantee that a community will be suitable for a particular person. Consider it alongside the underlying information, your own research, and the person’s individual needs.

AI in Your Senior Living Search

Recommendations Used by Our Advisors

Our advisors use an AI-powered recommendation tool to help identify communities for families to consider. The tool processes information provided during a care search, including inquiries, contact details, and care needs.

These recommendations support conversations with our advisors and further research. A suggested community may not have current availability or be able to meet every need. Confirm the relevant services, costs, and admission requirements before choosing a community.

Live Chat Support

People handle our live chat during staffed hours, while AI handles chats that come in overnight.

AI responses can misunderstand a question or provide incomplete information. Important details about a community or a care arrangement should be confirmed with our team and the community before you rely on them.

Personal Information and AI

AI tools used to support our services process personal information relevant to a family’s search, including the information described above.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share personal information and describes your privacy choices. Our separate Data Usage Policy addresses other parties’ reuse of our website content.

Understanding the Limitations

AI can misread documents, confuse similar names, leave out context, or produce inaccurate information. Source materials can also be incomplete or outdated, and human review cannot eliminate every error.

Our website and services help families research options and ask informed questions. They do not replace visiting a community, speaking with its staff, or consulting qualified medical, legal, or financial professionals. Our Terms of Service explain these boundaries.

Questions and Corrections

If you notice an error or have a question about our use of AI, email info@assistedlivingmagazine.com. Corrections are handled by people on our product team.
