Visit Reason
The visit was a Life Safety survey conducted by Commission surveyors on or about August 27, 2024, to assess compliance with fire and life safety code rules at Brookdale Colonial Heights Assisted Care Living Facility.
Findings
The facility failed to prevent the presence of portable space heaters, which is a violation of the Life Safety code prohibiting open flame and portable space heaters. The Administrator admitted the presence of the space heater constituted a deficiency.
