Surveyors conducted a complaint investigation triggered by a complaint alleging medications were not administered as ordered.
Complaint Details
The complaint was substantiated. It alleged medications were not administered as ordered and resident care and treatment concerns related to diabetic management.
Findings
Two deficiencies were identified related to medication administration and health monitoring. Resident 1 did not receive prescribed Estradiol cream for several months due to medication not being received from the pharmacy. Additionally, Resident 1's blood glucose levels were not properly monitored or communicated to medical providers as required.

83.32(3)(h) Rights of Residents: Receive medication. The provider did not ensure Resident 1 received all prescribed medications in the dosage and intervals prescribed, missing Estradiol cream doses from July 2025 onward due to pharmacy supply issues.
83.38(1)(g) Health monitoring. The provider failed to notify Resident 1's medical providers when blood glucose levels were outside provider protocol and did not document diabetic management or follow-up for out-of-parameter readings.
