Visit Reason
Commission surveyors conducted a Life Safety survey at The Bridge at Rhea County Assisted Care Living Facility on October 23, 2024.
Findings
The facility failed to produce documentation of required quarterly fire drills for each work shift and during sleeping hours for multiple quarters in 2022, 2023, and 2024. The Maintenance Director and Executive Director admitted that the fire drills were not conducted as required.

Tenn. Comp. R. and Regs. 0720-26-.10 (3)(a) [Life Safety] requires fire drills for each ACLF work shift quarterly. The facility failed to conduct fire drills for the 2nd shift 1st quarter 2023, 3rd shift 3rd quarter 2023, and 2nd shift 1st quarter 2024.
Tenn. Comp. R. and Regs. 0720-26-.10 (3)(b) [Life Safety] requires one fire drill per quarter during sleeping hours. The facility failed to conduct fire drills during sleeping hours for 4th quarter 2022, 2nd and 3rd quarters 2023, and 1st and 2nd quarters 2024.
