The inspection was conducted to assess compliance with regulatory requirements including accessibility of survey results to residents, nurse staffing postings, and food storage safety.

Findings
The facility failed to ensure survey results were accessible to residents, did not post nurse staffing data for 2 of 3 survey days, and failed to store food safely due to frost and ice accumulation in the walk-in freezer. These issues had the potential to affect many residents.

Visit Reason
The inspection was conducted to assess compliance with medication storage and food safety regulations at Morgantown Care & Rehabilitation Center.

Findings
The facility failed to ensure medications were stored according to manufacturer specifications and nursing principles, with expired medications found on one medication cart. Additionally, the facility failed to maintain safe and appetizing temperatures for cold foods served during the noon meal in Serenity Hall.

F 0761: The facility failed to ensure drugs and biologicals were stored according to manufacturer specifications and nursing principles. Seven medication cards on one cart contained expired medications affecting multiple residents.
F 0804: The facility failed to provide foods at safe and appetizing temperatures. Cold foods on the noon meal tray line were observed at temperatures above the required 41 degrees Fahrenheit.
