Commission surveyors conducted an investigation survey from May 1, 2024, through May 17, 2024, to determine compliance with regulations related to restraints and safety devices at Erwin Health Care Center.
Findings
The facility failed to follow its policy on restraints and safety devices, did not use the least restrictive methods, and failed to follow physician orders for restraint usage on several residents. The Director of Rehabilitation and Director of Nursing admitted to these failures, leading to disciplinary action.
