The inspection was conducted to evaluate compliance with infection control practices, medication storage and administration, and the implementation of an infection prevention and control program at the nursing home.
Findings
The facility failed to ensure proper infection control practices during medication administration, including inadequate hand hygiene and medication handling. Medication storage areas and refrigerators lacked proper locking mechanisms and securement of controlled substances. Additionally, the facility did not maintain a cleaning schedule for equipment such as sit-to-stand lifts, resulting in cross-contamination risks.
