My experience at Wilton Meadows has revealed serious and ongoing problems that put residents at risk and create an unfair, unsafe environment for staff. The chain of command does not follow through on their responsibilities, and management shows very little concern for employees or residents. The only time leadership becomes attentive is when the state is expected to visit. Staff are told to “do what you need to do because the state is coming,” instead of maintaining proper standards every day.Resident care is deeply inconsistent and often unsafe. Many residents are not fed on time, and it is not unusual for someone to reach lunchtime without having eaten breakfast. Feeding is done randomly by whoever decides to do it, rather than by assigned staff. Night shift employees have been seen sleeping on the job and double‑diapering residents so they do not have to change them as required. These practices violate basic care standards and put vulnerable people at risk.Staffing and workload issues are severe. New CNAs hired through the facility’s training class are taken advantage of by older CNAs who have been there 15+ years. Some CNAs clock in at the glass door, return to their cars, and come inside 15–20 minutes later while already on the clock. Certain employees are allowed to do very little work with no consequences. Pregnant employees are excused from most tasks, and younger CNAs are told to do their work for them, even when the tasks are essential to resident care. Many employees work full 8‑hour shifts without receiving a break. Management does not address these issues and appears more focused on funding than on resident care or staff support. What makes this even more heartbreaking is that families trust Wilton Meadows with their loved ones, believing they are receiving proper care. If families truly knew what was happening behind closed doors, they would be shocked. The management does not run Wilton Meadows — the senior CNAs do — and many of them take advantageWhat do you like most about living here?
