Overview of Ashton Place

Ashton Place is a 60-bed Enriched Housing Program at 190 Ashton Court in Clifton Springs, New York, in Ontario County, owned by Clifton Park Associates, LLC and family-operated by the Christiano Family with over 60 years in senior care. The facility opened in 1998 and holds Enriched Housing Program licensure alongside Enhanced Assisted Living Residence certification. Pets are not permitted. No entrance or endowment fees are charged; residents pay monthly fees only.

The facility is located 0.8 miles from Clifton Springs Hospital and Clinic.

Three named care tiers structure the community: Active Senior Living offers maintenance-free apartment living for residents with their own transportation; Independent Senior Living includes transportation, meals, and housekeeping; Enriched Senior Living provides the licensed EHP component with activities of daily living assistance and on-site nursing oversight. The Courtyard comprises a 16-suite secured memory care neighborhood with keypad and double-door entry, color-coded hallways, memory stations, a sensory garden, and family-style dining. Physical, occupational, and speech therapies are provided on campus through Clifton Springs Hospital therapists. Telehealth stations allow residents to attend follow-up appointments without leaving the building.

Hospice, podiatry, audiology, and mobile X-ray services visit regularly. Amenities include a fireside library, billiards and card lounge, fitness studio, beauty salon and barber, interfaith chapel, and a 26-seat cinema with hearing-assist technology.

The New York State Department of Health, Office of Aging and Long Term Care, conducted one inspection on file dated December 4, 2024, which identified one deficiency related to resident services, with a plan of correction approved. A prior inspection on August 12, 2021 found no violations. One complaint is on record at a rate of 1.7 per 100 occupied beds, compared to the New York state average of 49.9. One enforcement action is on file: Stipulation and Order ACF-22-055, dated October 24, 2022.

Families should ask about the specific corrective measures taken following the October 2022 enforcement action and the December 2024 deficiency finding before placement.
