The Village Care Home
The Village Care Home is a Sunderland community offering memory care, residential care, and respite care. Memory care provides supervision in a secured setting for someone living with dementia, while residential care gives a person a place to live with care woven into daily life. Respite care offers a short stay when a resident’s usual caregiver needs time away.
The community has 40 beds, with single rooms for every resident rather than shared accommodation. Pets are allowed, so someone moving into the home can continue living with a pet. Services are intended for residents over 65, and the combination of memory care and respite care may suit an older adult living with dementia whose usual caregiver needs a temporary break.
Residents can join gentle exercise classes, pampering sessions, reminiscence activities, arts and crafts, bingo, card games, and outings to local attractions. Transportation is available for those outings, while rehabilitation services support access to rehabilitation. Special diets are accommodated, allowing meals to be adapted to individual dietary needs.
