Overview of The Spinney Residential Home

The Spinney Residential Home has been owned by Mr. Richard & Mrs. Pauline Duffy since 1993, who have adopted a hands-on approach to the day-to-day running of the retirement living facility. Richard mainly deals with the garden, grounds, and purchasing items needed by the home, while Pauline is actively involved in the safe running of the home and enjoys welcoming new residents, ensuring they live in quality and comfortable surroundings. Mrs Duffy has completed a course in Management in Health and Social Care at Leeds Metropolitan University, and the home is supported by a team of senior carers, team leaders, and care assistants who continue to develop their skills and training knowledge.

The Spinney Residential Home is a purpose-built retirement living facility for older people, dedicated to providing a high standard of care to the elderly since 1986. The home is a large detached house situated in a quiet residential area of upper Armley, approximately 2 miles to the west of Leeds City Centre. The home has three lounge areas where residents can meet other residents or entertain their loved ones, participate in organized activities, or simply relax. The home arranges a variety of regular activities throughout the year, including entertainment, trips out to local beauty spots and shopping centres, and has a dedicated activities coordinator. The Spinney Residential Home is committed to providing the very best quality of care for all its residents, carrying out ongoing monthly risk assessments and evaluations to ensure that all the information is still relevant to each resident’s current needs.
