One substantiated complaint investigation on May 28, 2021, documented that a staff member financially abused a resident by managing finances without power of attorney and issuing undocumented cash payments. This resulted in one deficiency for failing to protect personal rights.
The facility recorded 0.2 deficiencies per year (95 percent better than California average of 4 per year). No serious (Type A) citations have been recorded. One technical violation (LIC 9102) regarding hospice resident placement on a non-approved fire clearance floor occurred in August 2022.
Families should inquire about the low occupancy rate, staffing tenure and training, and protocols implemented following the 2021 financial abuse incident before placement.
