My friend's recent experience with Emerald Groves Central and their promise to her failed miserably. The owners Patrick & Jennifer were told she has ALS (Lou Gehrig's) disease. They terminated her residency because they had to go back on their word that they could take care of her. They said if her health would remain consistent and stable, they could take care of her. REALLY?? ALS is a degenerative disease. As an assisted living provider, they should understand what happens when a person has this disease. ALS is not a consistent and stable disease.I would not recommend this place at all for someone with ALS. I would also recommend that you ask if they know how to handle a choking incident (which started the termination), do they know CPR, or how to feed a person with a disability or on a feeding tube? If they don't know how to take care of someone as their condition declines, then they shouldn't be accepting such patients. What was promised didn't happen and has devastated my friend. It was cruel and caused her more stress than she needed to have in her present condition. THINK TWICE about putting a loved one in Emerald Groves CentralWhat do you like most about living here?
