Omni Assisted Living of Aberdeen Reviews

Orande Vickerie
I am incredibly proud to serve as the Operations Manager for Omni Assisted Living of Aberdeen, having officially joined the team on April 1, 2026, after our official building opening in December 2025. Our community represents a beautiful narrative of local preservation, as we occupy the iconic former Aberdeen High School building, which was saved from demolition after suffering severe flooding and plumbing issues thanks to a building owner who invested heavily in its complete renovation. We received overwhelming praise from our mayor and local town leaders at our grand opening, and we are keeping that community momentum going by planning an open house and recently hosting a 5K race on 4th of July to further introduce our facility to the neighborhood. Although we do not currently have any residents living here yet, we are actively conducting tours for interested leads, who are consistently blown away by how spacious our rooms are and the fact that all of our suites feature private bathrooms to protect resident dignity and privacy. Our operational location provides an unmatched advantage because we sit adjacent to Festival Park in downtown Aberdeen and directly across the street from the MARC and Amtrak train station, giving our mobile seniors the luxury of embarking on exploratory field trips to places like Pennsylvania, New York, Baltimore City, and Washington, D.C. Within our walls, our activities menu has been designed to support a continuous offering of elder-focused programming from morning until evening, which includes coordinating book clubs with the local library, hosting visiting musicians once or twice a week, and utilizing our massive historic gymnasium for larger social gatherings and volunteer interactions. Our care philosophy is built on an inclusive, multi-tier model consisting of Certified Med Technicians and Caregivers. While medication passing is strictly handled by our certified staff and delegating nurse, every single team member, including myself, is expected to participate in baseline care like housekeeping and ADLs so our residents feel deeply comfortable and appreciated without their families facing any additional hidden fees. Ultimately, we aim to deliver a truly homey, non-sterile atmosphere where caregivers actively socialize with residents and support their independence with care and dignity.

As an employee who has been deeply involved with this facility since before our official opening in December 2025, I can provide a unique ground-floor perspective on our community's development. I have seen firsthand how much care and capital the building owner invested into renovating and restoring this landmark Aberdeen High School building. What makes this environment so exceptional is that corporate leadership is incredibly open-minded to operational ideas and feedback from everyone in the building, ensuring we are completely unified in our approach to resident care. The massive architectural features we have inherited, such as the grand old high school gymnasium, gives our activities director a phenomenal canvas to bring the local Aberdeen community inside for volunteer events, live musical sets, and vibrant social gatherings. We are positioned perfectly to offer an ideal balance of a cozy, family-style home environment upstairs and a robust, multi-floor medical safety net throughout the rest of the building. Having the building owner's personal medical practice anchoring the bottom floor, coupled with active plans to house primary care and urgent care providers directly on the second floor, guarantees an extraordinary level of real-time clinical support and reassurance for both our future residents and their families.
