Wedgewood South underwent a comprehensive inspection on November 15, 2023, resulting in six state standard violations. The majority of these deficiencies were related to Life Safety Code requirements, including fire safety and building maintenance issues. Specifically, the facility was cited for failing to obtain annual fire marshal inspections, check gas heating systems prior to the heating season, maintain records of inspection and testing of the fire alarm system, and train staff in the use of fire extinguishers. Additionally, documentation about the fire sprinkler system was not kept onsite. No Health Code deficiencies were listed during this inspection. The facility had previously been cited for similar issues on January 13, 2022, which were corrected by February 18, 2022. Enforcement actions were taken against Wedgewood South in November 2022, resulting in an administrative penalty of $3,000.
