Sundale Senior Living – the Lexington Center
Nursing Home · Texas, TX
Sundale Senior Living – the Lexington Center is a senior living community in Huntsville, TX, offering assisted living, memory support, and respite care. Managed by Sundale Senior Living, LP, this 56-bed community also offers rehabilitation services, which makes it a practical choice for those transitioning from hospital stays or recovering from medical events. The location is remarkably convenient for those who enjoy being active, boasting a walk score of 87, which is exceptionally high for a Texas senior residential setting.
As a Type A licensed community, it is best suited for older adults who maintain a higher degree of mobility and require less intensive medical oversight than those in Type B settings. Residents here are typically capable of following directions during emergencies and self-directing much of their own care. While the community includes memory care in its service roster, families should be aware that it does not hold a formal Alzheimer’s certification and should discuss specific cognitive support needs with the staff directly.
In a January 2024 inspection, the state recorded one health-related deficiency regarding the documentation of medication self-administration counseling, which the team resolved in just over a week. Six other findings were related to Life Safety Codes, such as fire alarm contracts and general building maintenance. Notably, these technical citations matched the state average, while the health citation count was 50% lower than the Texas average, indicating a strong commitment to daily resident wellness and clinical practices.
For families in the Huntsville area seeking a setting that balances personal independence with professional support, Sundale Senior Living – the Lexington Center offers an inviting, mid-sized atmosphere. The walkable surroundings and the availability of short-term recovery options also provide a unique advantage for older adults who wish to remain connected to local amenities while receiving attentive care.
