Compare Assisted Living around Arizona

Info below is compiled from the AZ Dept. of Health Services (ADHS), senior community websites & trusted data sources such as Walk Score & BBB.

Communities are listed from highest-ranked to lowest-ranked based on our methodology.

Care Types in This Table AL (Assisted Living): Housing with help for daily activities like bathing, dressing, and medication, without 24-hour skilled nursing. MC (Memory Care): Secured, specialized care for people living with Alzheimer's or dementia. RC (Respite Care): Short-term temporary care that gives family caregivers a break. IL (Independent Living): Community living with dining, activities, and transportation for active seniors who need little personal care. HC (Home Care): Professional care delivered in the person's own home, from companionship to skilled nursing. HOS (Hospice Care): Comfort-focused care for those with a terminal illness, prioritizing quality of life over treatment.
City and state of the facility. Used for mapping and state-average comparisons.
Licensed bed capacity (maximum allowed). Not the same as how many beds are currently filled.
Indicates whether residents are allowed to have pets in the facility.
Third-party neighborhood walkability score (0–100). Convenience/context metric, not a healthcare quality measure.
Description of bed or unit types offered (e.g. assisted living, memory care), as reported in state or facility disclosures.
Number of years the company has been in operation.
Better Business Bureau grade for the operating company. Reflects complaint handling and business practices, not clinical care quality.
A named contact for the facility. Hover the name to see their role — Administrator (state administrator of record or facility-provided administrator), Nursing Director, Medical Director, or Staff. The most authoritative available is shown.
A 0–100 score of a facility's regulatory inspection record, shown as a letter and compared with other facilities of the same kind in the same state. This is a proprietary Assisted Living Magazine grade. It is not a government rating. A dash means we have no inspection data for that facility.
Count of regulatory inspections in the reporting window. Higher volume can reflect more oversight visits, complaint-driven surveys, or routine licensure cycles.
Total count of deficiencies (cited regulatory issues) recorded in the selected reporting period. Read alongside inspection counts for context.
The average number of deficiencies this facility receives each time it's inspected, calculated as total deficiencies ÷ total inspections. A lower number suggests more consistent compliance with safety and care standards.

Respite care is available for short stays, which can suit a family caregiver who needs time to travel or recover.

Overview of The Enclave at Gilbert Senior Living

The Enclave at Gilbert Senior Living: it’s not trying to be one kind of place. It’s a 133-bed community on South Val Vista Drive in Gilbert, Arizona, and it covers independent living, assisted living, and memory care all under one three-story roof. That’s worth noting up front, because it means a family isn’t necessarily choosing a facility just for right now. They’re choosing one that can (in theory) hold steady as needs change.

Gilbert Operator, LLC owns the building, and Briana Watson runs it day to day as administrator. Eight years in, this isn’t brand new, but it’s also not an institution with decades of history behind it. The neighborhood itself is what I’d call car-dependent-ish: Walk Score of 35, so you can walk to a few things, but you’re driving for most errands. That’s just Gilbert.

Inside, residents get studio, one-bedroom, or two-bedroom layouts. There’s an art studio, a library, a music room, plus walking paths and courtyards if someone wants to be outside instead. Housekeeping and maintenance are handled by staff, and there’s transportation service too, which honestly takes a real logistical weight off families who’d otherwise be shuttling someone to every appointment. Pets are allowed here. If your parent has a dog they’ve had for twelve years, that’s not a dealbreaker.

On the regulatory side: Arizona’s Department of Health Services, through its Bureau of Long Term Care Licensing, inspects communities like this one, and the themes that tend to come up statewide involve staffing and credentials, hazardous-materials handling, care documentation, resident rights, and fall prevention. That’s fairly standard territory for licensed senior communities across the state.

What you’re really looking at is a mid-sized community built to flex across independent living, assisted living, and memory care, with enough indoor and outdoor amenity space that daily life doesn’t feel confined to a single hallway.

Overview of Angel Care Home Assisted Living

Angel Care Home Assisted Living provides assisted living, hospice care, and memory care in Phoenix, AZ. Assisted living supports residents with daily tasks such as bathing, dressing, and medication while they live in private or semi-private rooms. Hospice care provides comfort-focused support for residents with serious illness, while memory care offers a secured setting with supervision for someone who may be at risk of wandering.

The home has 10 beds, making it a smaller community where staff and residents can get to know one another. Located in the Alvarado Manors neighborhood, Angel Care Home Assisted Living offers private and semi-private rooms, including private rooms with private baths. Wheelchair-accessible spaces support residents who use mobility devices.

Residents can spend time in the garden or on the large shaded patio, and scenic pathways provide an outdoor activity. Meals are designed to help manage conditions such as high blood pressure and diabetes, with dining available in private rooms or the garden. Mobile doctors, dental, cardiology, podiatry, X-ray, and phlebotomy services bring several types of clinical care to the community, while rehabilitation services support recovery and ongoing physical needs.

The area has a Walk Score of 54, described as somewhat walkable, so some errands can be completed on foot and a resident who no longer drives may still be able to manage certain outings independently. Ciara Warner is the owner and director. Memory care and the home’s small size may make Angel Care Home Assisted Living a good fit for someone who needs a supervised setting within a smaller community.

Frequently Asked Questions about Assisted Living in Arizona

What's the difference between assisted living and memory care in Arizona?

Assisted living in Arizona supports residents with daily activities (bathing, dressing, medication management) while preserving independence. Memory care is a specialized form of assisted living for residents living with Alzheimer's or dementia, and adds 24/7 secured environments, dementia-trained staff, and structured routines designed to reduce confusion and wandering.

What's the difference between assisted living and a nursing home in Arizona?

Assisted living in Arizona is a residential model focused on housing, hospitality, and help with daily activities. Nursing homes (skilled nursing facilities) provide 24/7 medical care from licensed nurses for residents with significant health needs, and are regulated more strictly under both state and federal CMS rules.

Does Arizona Medicaid cover assisted living?

Arizona Medicaid does not directly pay room-and-board for assisted living, but most states (including Arizona) offer Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) waivers that can offset the cost of care services delivered inside a licensed community. Eligibility, waitlists, and covered services vary — check directly with the state Medicaid agency.

What is assisted living?

Assisted living combines private or semi-private apartments with help on activities of daily living (meals, bathing, dressing, medication management) and a social calendar — for residents who need some support but do not need 24/7 medical care.

How many assisted living facilities are listed on this page?

This page features 561 assisted living facilities in Arizona. Use the filters and comparison tools above to compare ratings, amenities, and pricing.

How do I choose the right assisted living facility in Arizona?

Start by matching the level of care offered to the resident's current and anticipated needs, then compare licensing status, staff-to-resident ratios, recent inspection results, and pricing. Tour at least two or three communities in Arizona, talk to current residents and families, and confirm what is included in the base rate versus billed as add-on services.

What should I look for when visiting assisted living facilities in Arizona?

Pay attention to staff interactions with residents, cleanliness and odor, food quality at meal times, the activity calendar, and how questions about pricing and care plans are answered. Ask to see the most recent state inspection report, the move-out / level-of-care-change policy, and a sample monthly bill that lists every fee.
