Morningside House of Spotsylvania is a memory care, hospice care, and respite care community in Fredericksburg, VA. Memory care provides a supervised setting for residents with memory-related illnesses, including Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, while hospice care supports residents receiving end-of-life care. Respite care offers a short-term stay for someone whose usual caregiver needs time to travel or recover, and the community may be a good fit for a person with dementia who needs supervised memory support.
The community has 68 beds, and Joy Mcgee serves as the administrator. Pets are allowed, so residents may be able to continue living with a pet, while multi-sensory and pet therapy provide activities involving sensory experiences and animals. A full-service salon, chef-prepared meals and snacks, a reflections therapy room, and life skills stations are also available for daily routines and activities.
Residents can take part in crafts, baking, yoga, games, and live music, giving them organized activities to join within the community. Hospice coordination is available for residents receiving hospice care. A Walk Score of 88 places the area in the very walkable band, meaning most errands can be done on foot, so a resident who no longer drives can still get out independently.
